Guilbault has reached another milestone in its growth with the acquisition of Transport Inter-Nord, a company specializing in LTL and TL freight transportation in Quebec, owned by the McLaughlin family for over 33 years and Champlain Financial Corp. since 2021.
This new acquisition adds to Guilbault’s offer the expertise of more than 150 dedicated employees and a new service point. From its Saint-Jérôme terminal, Transport Inter-Nord covers a territory comprising more than 625 municipalities.
Mr. Eric Gignac, president of Groupe Guilbault Ltd, is very proud of this strategic alliance that will allow his company to consolidate its position as a leader in LTL freight transportation in Quebec. Moreover, Transport Inter-Nord and Transport Guilbault are two family businesses run by descendants of their third generation, they share the same values and the same customer service objectives.
Mr. Steve McLaughlin, president of Transport Inter-Nord, affirms that match is perfect, since both companies care about their employees and customers. He adds that Transport Guilbault has always been a model for his company, like a big brother, and he is pleased to be part of this Quebec flagship.
Transport Inter-Nord will retain its name and be an autonomous business unit of the Guilbault Transport Division. Also, the general management of Transport Inter-Nord will remain under the good care of Mr. Steve McLaughlin and his current team.
With this acquisition, Guilbault’s customers will now be able to count on the expertise of 1,215 employees and 1,560 units to ensure the smooth running of their supply chains.
