Guilbault is really involved!

At Guilbault, we don’t just talk the talk when it comes to community involvement: we walk the walk and support local and regional community initiatives.

And we gladly back our current and retired employees’ and partners’ projects.

Here are some major social initiatives we have supported recently:

Guilbault has a five-year commitment to YWCA Québec. This organization helps women in difficulty and their children by housing them and supporting them through difficult periods in their lives. The YWCA also runs programs to empower women and girls while promoting health and physical and economic safety.

Guilbault Transport makes two pick-ups each Friday morning from Weston in St-Hubert and Colabor in Boucherville and then delivers the food to the Breakfast Club of Canada in Boucherville during the school year.

Guilbault Transport provides the festival with a free trailer and transport to and from the storage site, as needed.

Guilbault supports the Foundation, which develops and sustains initiatives that will ensure the availability of skilled workers in the road transport industry. Guilbault awards a $1,000 bursary each year to a transport student to get young people interested in the trucking industry.

Sustainable development

At Guilbault, we’re always thinking about the future. That’s why we’re proud to be a responsible corporate citizen and make the environment a priority in the vehicles we choose and our specifications.

The steps we have taken in recent years have reduced our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by more than 6,600 metric tons annually.

Our vehicle fleet meets following environmental standards:

  • Speed limiters set to 95 kilometers per hour;
  • Anti-tipping system;
  • ABS brakes;
  • Engine shut-down system triggered after three minutes of idling;
  • Installation of back-up heating and air conditioning systems;
  • New antipollution systems in almost 100% of our tractor fleet;
  • Regulation inspections in accordance with the PIP program;
  • 50 long combination vehicle (LCV) permits;
  • Roll-out of driver assistance systems in new tractor models.
